First we brainstormed locations for our Little Free Library. We put parks, schools, stores, busy roads and neighborhoods. We voted for a park.
Then we scanned QR codes and look up details about our parks in our area. We asked permission. Only one park said yes that we heard back from.
We sent out a survey to kids in all Central elementary schools to ask them about the parks. Then we looked at each park's popularity. 12% was for Rocky Ridge. Cousler got 55%. John Rudy got 9%. Springettsbury got 21%. Rail Trail had 4%.
Also, we looked at the size\area of each park. Rocky Ridge is 750 acres. Cousler is 106 acres. John Rudy is 150 acres. Springettsbury is 51 acres. Rail Trail is 176 acres/21.10 miles. They are all clean, all scenic and all but one peaceful. They all have benches and all but one have pavillons. All have shaded areas and they all have open areas. All are protected. After we considered all of those things. We picked John Rudy because we got permission from them. Also, we liked how it had a BMX place and a dog park.
