Research
Before we could make our Little Free Library, we had to research about our Little Free Library. First Mrs. Long came to visit us at North Hills and told us information about her LFL. A tree fell on hers! Also, it never got vandalized. Then we started emailing Mr. and Mrs. Domboski for information on their Little Free Library and how their LFL is a memorial for their son’s life. Next we went on to the Little Free Library website and researched the LFL’s on it and looked at the information that told us about the Little Free Library community. Last we got a LFL plaque and made our Little Free Library official.
Design Competition
One day Mrs. Hartman wanted to have a design competition for the NHE Little Free Library. Then we started to draw our designs on a piece of paper. Then when it was done, we voted on what we liked the best. Next Mrs. Hartman showed us which Little Free Library designs won and it was the castle. Last we gave the design to the high school so students there could build it. It’s a cool castle. The people that made are LFL and there names are Mr. Ressell and Mr. Grandi, two high school teachers from Central. After that they came back a few weeks later with our LFL and it looked awesome! Our class was so happy!
Location
First we had to look around the school for a good place to put our Little Free Library. Then our whole class talked about all of our opinions about where we should put our North Hills Little Free Library. Then we voted on where we should put our Little Free Library and we chose to put it in the hallway between the gym and the cafeteria. After that, when Mr. Grandi and Mr. Resell came to visit again they measured again to see if the space where we decided to put it was a big enough space.
